Moving Staff Desktops
The actual move of equipment from someone’s current desk to their new desk appears at first sight to be simple. However when you are dealing with tens or hundreds of sets of equipment, it becomes a very different matter! Not only does everything have to be plugged in and working in the new location before staff arrive, but it all has to be on the right desk.
To add to the complications, desktop IT and telephone equipment is usually the first item to be packed away at the start of the move, and the last to be able to be reinstated - you can’t plug a machine together until the desk has been moved.
Firstcourt have huge experience in managing desktops moves from a single desk up to several hundred. We make sure that everything is labelled and recorded to ensure a smooth move.
As part of the desktop move, Firstcourt will:
• Produce floor plans of current and new locations • Unplug all computers, printers, phones and other devices • Pack equipment ready for transport • Patch in new desk locations for voice and data • Unpack and connect all IT equipment in new location • Test new setup • Provide on site support post move • Provide move notes for staff detailing any changes • Provide location and patching records for your IT team
Firstcourt move teams will usually be working out of hours at weekends and evenings. |
